The webhosting2019 server will be migrated from cloudlinux7 -> cloudlinux8 and cpanel will be upgraded to version 11.126. While cloudlinux would continue to provide security updates the operating system is based on RHEL7 which was released June 10, 2014 and reaches technical end of life in 2024. Cloudlinux8 will provide updates until at least 2029.
InterServer will continue to provide hardened php versions including php 5.1 to to the latest php8. Please be aware php 4 has reached the end of life for hardened php and security updates are no longer included. PHP4 reached end of life in 2008 and hardened php project has now removed further updates.
MariaDB 10.5 will remain the same version.
The upgrade is designed to be seamless. There are no ip changes, and there is a short downtime to switch to new hardware. We expect the final change over to take under 30 minutes.
This change brings in some exciting new features. After almost a decade of requests, cPanel is offering Manage Team which business owners to create team user accounts so that multiple users can manage a single cPanel account without sharing credentials as well as further website monitoring and the sitejet site builder.
